AI Copilot

Ask your landscape almost anything

Dependra's AI Copilot understands your IT landscape — dependencies, blast radius, incidents, costs, and documentation. Ask questions in plain language, get answers grounded in your actual architecture — not guesses.

Dependra AI Copilot: a slide-out drawer showing a natural language question about blast radius with an answer grounded in the live landscape

What it does

The Copilot is an AI assistant that sits across your entire Dependra landscape and answers questions in plain language. It knows your components, dependencies, incidents, business capabilities, costs, and documentation — so its answers are grounded in your architecture, not generated from thin air.

It covers the questions that today take hours of diagram tracing or cross-team meetings to answer. Ask about a component and it traces the full upstream and downstream chain. Ask about revenue risk and it draws on the economics you authored. Ask about an incident and it surfaces affected stakeholders and SLA exposure.

Bring Your Own LLM

Your AI router. Your perimeter. Your rules.

Enterprises in regulated industries can't route sensitive architecture data through infrastructure they don't control. Dependra's BYO LLM mode lets you point the Copilot at your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint — Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, a self-hosted gateway like LiteLLM, or any compliant router — and the LLM traffic stays under your control and governance.

  • Your data stays in your perimeter. Route through your own endpoint. No architecture data touches infrastructure you don't own.
  • Your policies, your guardrails. Content filtering, PII redaction, audit logging, rate limiting — enforced by your own gateway, not ours.
  • No AI vendor lock-in. Swap providers without changing anything in Dependra. The endpoint is a config field.
  • Compliance-ready out of the box. Meets your infosec team's requirements because the model traffic runs on your terms.

Capabilities

  • Blast radius in natural language. "What breaks if this service goes down?" — answered in seconds, not hours of diagram tracing.
  • Dependency exploration. Trace upstream and downstream chains, understand coupling, identify single points of failure.
  • Cost and revenue analysis. Which components affect revenue? What's the blast radius cost of this outage? Grounded in your authored economics.
  • Documentation search. Ask about any component, hosting arrangement, team, or technology — the Copilot searches across your linked documentation.
  • Initiative and impact planning. Draft impact assessments, identify affected stakeholders, and understand the knock-on effects of planned work.
  • Entity authoring with approval gate. The Copilot can propose creating or updating landscape entities — you review and approve before anything changes. No silent writes.

How it works

  1. Available on every page. A slide-out drawer is accessible from anywhere in the product — no context switching, no separate tab.
  2. Two modes: BYO or managed. Bring your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint — including Azure OpenAI or local models — or use Dependra-managed for zero-config pay-as-you-go. A free monthly allowance is included in every plan.
  3. Grant-aware by design. The Copilot respects your access permissions. It only surfaces data you're allowed to see — no cross-tenant leakage, no privileged answers for unprivileged users.
  4. Approval gate for writes. The AI proposes; you decide. No landscape entity is created or updated without your explicit sign-off.

The outcome

Faster answers

Questions that took hours of diagram tracing answered in natural language — without pulling in the people who own the system.

Safer changes

See the blast radius of what you're about to change before you do it. Propose entities with an approval gate so the model stays clean.

No context switching

Answer impact questions without leaving your current page. The drawer opens wherever you are — incident response, planning, or review.

Confidence, not guesswork

Answers grounded in your live landscape data, not hallucination. The Copilot says what it doesn't know rather than inventing an answer.
