An append-only audit log that survives the deletion of the person who did it
A forensic, append-only record of who changed what — queryable by date range, action, entity type and user, backed by a must-not-lose ingestion pipeline. And it's privacy-by-design: data-minimised, so the trail outlives the actor.
What it is
The Audit Log is the governance trail regulated enterprises require: a forensic, append-only record of who did what, queryable by date range, action, entity type and user, with pagination — backed by a must-not-lose ingestion pipeline so entries can't quietly go missing.
It's privacy-by-design: it stores only a short actor signature — not a full name — and no foreign key to the user, so the trail is GDPR-data-minimised and survives even after the actor is deleted. The forensic record and the privacy requirement don't fight each other; the log satisfies both.
How it works
- Every change is captured. Mutations across the landscape are recorded through a must-not-lose ingestion pipeline.
- Data-minimised at write. A short actor signature is stored — no full name, no user foreign key — so the entry is GDPR-minimised by construction.
- Query when asked. Filter by date range, action, entity type and user, with pagination, to answer "who changed what, when".
The outcome
Answer the audit
Filter and show who changed what, instead of reconstructing a change history after the fact.
Privacy by design
Data-minimised and survives user deletion — a forensic trail that's also GDPR-compliant, not one at the expense of the other.
Four-eyes on process
Paired with process-change approval and separation-of-duties, changes carry a real change-approval trail.
